Any misspelt name is repulsive. Ok, so Hulk Hogan was taken? No excuse to name your character Hulk Hoagan.

I like stupid names. Except all that legolas stuff. Not creative at all. Every other person is named that.

I really dont care what a person's name is when I group with them. Get over it.

I fall in the annoying name category....lol...oh well
But alot of the good names are taken, therefore we have to improvise.
One of the best names i've seen is: Zerg Overlord
Sorry, im a fan!

<----
but i do like my tank: S H O N U F F
Its still the beginning part of the movie, so I have the glow!

To me it's mostly the misspelt warrior names, and there are a LOT of them. "Worior" especially, followed by a name, like "Worior Sven" or "Worior Alex" or whatever. Those people could have been also named "Im Not So Bright" to me

But it can get worse. There's one named "Carmen Ss Gestapo". I swear, if I run into her again meaning she hasn't had to change her name, I will report that name. It just makes me so mad and gives me the shivers

Mods, if the mentioning names in this way is not allowed, just take my post down. In this case I would understand it.

Is that because its famous?

Per Yngve Ohlin <--- Lead singer of Mayhem, commited suicide etc

Per Yngve Oh Lin <---- My necros name because the first was taken. Would that put off if you knew? (i get asked so much if i'm Sweedish...)

I find any name that specifies you to doing somet stupid. All those people with 'Runner' 'Protector' 'Domination' etc in are pointless.

I dont see how RP names are any more creative than "Bob pwns your face." Anyone can piece seemingly random syllables together.

At least its easier for me to address that person as "bob" rather than some messed up name I have to read 10 times to figure out how to pronounce/spell it. You need a name that your guildies and other players can recognize you by. Preferably something short and easy to remember. It doesn't matter if the second part of the name is "Aragoth" or "Pwns You." And if you are judgemental enough to say anyone with those names is not worth playing with, then its no different than me saying anyone with names like "Sagroth Flamehand" is a wierd roleplayer with no life.

All I'm trying to say is, if you base your guild/group decisions on the player's name, you are being way to close-minded. Anyone's name can mean something, even if its not so obvious to you. Maybe someone typoed "worrior" in guild chat and everyone made fun of him. So as a joke, he named his next character like that. You immediately jump to the conclusion that he is dumb and refuse to play with him. You, of course, are just being ignorant.

Not to sound preachy and up my own ass, but worrying about names like this is just stupid.

Disclaimer: all name examples are completely made up and in no way refrence anyone.

by far the stupidest name i have seen (and see whenever i play) is the name of my warrior, kavin surbo. good lord, what was i thinking......

on the other hand, there are names that are stupid but in a funny and brilliant way. the following name may only be relevant to canadians, especially canadians living in quebec....

Good, you don't want that name anyway. Once SomethingAwful.com pipes down ( ) and the fad goes away, whoever has that char name is gonna regret it.

The most stupid name I have seen was 'Inflictor of Aids' not very funny - by chance I saw the guy running round a few times of well. Suprised he never got banned or told to make a new nik. Dunno if they ever did.

and religious names/guilds lets keep personal beliefs out of a game that is supposed to be fun.......remember this is guild wars not jyhad.

"NOT MY BELIEFS,NOT MY RELIGION,BUT IT IS MY GAME""
your game as well as many others. some people use names like that for fun. and if you have a problem with the debate, you DO have the option to move districts if it's that much of a problem to your escapism from real life.

1) any name made after a stupid celebrity/character eg chuck norris or legolas or naruto (as mentioned before)
2) any name that contains blatant spelling errors (as mentioned before)
3) combination of 1 and 2 = the worst
4) a bunch of you mentioned people with random names like "wjdoc dsonrm" But how bad could that be? I mean how can adfasdf 3tgwjnsf be worse than this?
